Dear Members:
We have come a long
way since our inception a few years ago. We would never have achieved
so much without the efforts of our members. Unfortunately, only a
small percentage of our
members have stepped
up and met their volunteer requirements. We will not be able to keep
up with the increased demands of energy costs without passing the expenses
down to you, our members,
unless we pull together.
It is absolutely vital
that ALL members meet their volunteer requirements, especially in the area
of fundraising. Due to the lack of participation from our members,
it is neccessary
for us to raise our
membership fees by $100 for all categories of membership that require volunteer
hours. This $100 will be refunded in the form of a credit once a
member has met his/her requirement
for that year (our year
goes June to June). However, you must be in good standing (all dues
and contract fees up to date) in order to receive that credit.
We understand that this
may come as a huge "sticker shock" to many of you, and we do not want this.
The Board of Directors is working on a way to make member participation
in the June 2008 Calendar Raffle help members reduce
this extra charge, and we will inform members of our plans as soon as they
are finalized. If you have any questions or concerns, please call
Maryann Fells, send us an e mail, or attend the February 4 meeting at 6:15.
We want to do everything we can to make this club a success, but we need
YOUR help.

Lighthouse Skaters Krista Mazzola,
Karen Morahan, Amanda Prue, Taylor Rooney, Brooke Wrightington, Emily Mitchell,
and Daria Hall were invited to perform.
What a thrill that must have been
to skate with Olympians Tanith Belbin and Ben Agosto!
Paul LaFlamme is recovering from a
motorcycle injury and could not skate, but he and his dad performed a musical
number. Paul showed that along with
being a gifted skater, he can sing!
Who knew?
The young local talent that Yvonne
rounded up did not disappoint either. It was a thrill to see Michelle
Boulos and Emily Young back here at Tony Kent, and all the skaters
who travelled to the Cape to perform
here were awe inspiring. It was a magical two hours. If you
missed it, you missed a lot!
