Lighthouse Figure Skating Club of Cape Cod, Inc. Membership Classification
2008-2009
**Please note, our 2008-2009 membership dues have been increased by $100 for all classifications that require volunteer hours.  This money is fully refundable when a member has met that requirement, and will be issued as a credit towards club expenses. Please see below for examples of volunteer duties.
 
Welcome to the Lighthouse Figure Skating Club of Cape Cod!  Our goal as a club is to provide a positive environment for skaters of all ages and all levels to learn and enjoy the sport of figure skating.  We look forward to having you aboard as a member to enjoy and take part in our club activities and social events.  If we can help answer any questions as you go through our membership classifications please do not hesitate to ask Briana Lackenby at 508-776-9002 or blackenby@hotmail.com. FAMILY SKATING MEMBERSHIP $400.00
 
 Best if there are 2 or more skating members within one family 
Includes U. S. Figure Skating membership for each registered family member 
 Participation in all Club shows, exhibitions, test sessions, critiques, competitions, and social functions. 
 Voting (designated 2 votes per registered family at membership meetings, voters must be over 18 years old) 
 Requires total of 15 hours of volunteer time each competitive season which runs from June to June (can be accumulated through skaters and parents) 
 
INDIVIDUAL SKATING MEMBERSHIP $350.00
Includes U. S. Figure Skating membership for one skater and one parent 
Best choice if there is one competitive skater to be registered Participation in all Club shows, exhibitions, test sessions, critiques, competitions, and social functions. 
 Voting (members under the age of 18 will delegate voting rights to one parent/guardian), entitled to one vote at  membership meetings.
 Requires total 10 hours of volunteer time each competitive season (can be accumulated through skater and parents) 
 
ADULT SKATING MEMBERSHIP    $225.00
 
Includes U. S. Figure Skating membership for one adult skater 
 Intended for those individuals who meet USFS guidelines for adult skating
 Participation in all Club shows, exhibitions, test sessions, critiques, competitions, and social functions. Voting rights (one vote for each adult member at membership meetings) 
 Requires total 10 hours of volunteer time each competitive season
PROFESSIONAL MEMBERSHIP   $125.00
(Skating professionals will be accepted upon board approval after submission of resume and proof of liability insurance and PSA membership)
Includes U. S. Figure Skating membership Teaching privileges for the Club and at facilities the Club skates at/with 
 Agree to assist with Club shows and exhibitions 
Agree to support Club sponsored shows, test sessions, exhibitions, critiques, social events, and competitions. 
 Voting rights (one vote for each professional member at membership meetings) 
 Requires total 10 hours of volunteer time each competitive season
LITTLE LIGHTHOUSES “BEACON” MEMBERSHIP $225.00
This membership is for those skaters who are moving past the learn-to-skate level and are not quite ready for open level competitions, but may have started or would like to start participating in Basic Skills Competitions.  This membership is an intermediate step for the skater and parent(s) to start to become involved in club functions, activities, and start to learn about competitive figure skating 
 Includes U.S. Figure skating membership for skater and one parent 
Participation in annual shows, exhibitions, and critiques 
 Participation in all Club social functions 
 Entitled to one vote at membership meetings (vote delegated to parent/guardian when skater is under the age of 18) 
Requires minimum of 5 hours volunteer time annually  
 
ASSOCIATE/FRIENDSHIP MEMBERSHIP $100.00
(This membership if for those individuals who wish to maintain their allegiance to the club and maintain their U.S. Figure Skating membership) 
Includes U.S. Figure Skating membership 
Participation in social events annually Entitled to one vote at annual meeting 
Does NOT require volunteer time, though help with Club events is greatly welcomed and appreciated
Parents & Tots Membership “Baby Beacons” $75.00
 
(This membership was designed to acknowledge those participants in the moms and tots classes sponsored by the rink.  This is an excellent way for children and parents to participate in club sponsored activities together) 
 Includes U.S. Figure skating registration for parent/guardian and child 
 Includes participation in club social functions 
 Includes option of participating in club sponsored activities and social functions 
 Each parent/guardian will be entitled to one vote at membership meetings 
 Volunteer time is not required though it is greatly appreciated 
 
 
 
 
 
 
 
MEMBERS IN GOOD STANDING:
 Agree to pay all dues on time
 Agree to fulfill their volunteer commitments
 Agree to participate in annual meetings and social events
 Agree to conduct themselves in an ethical manner and in the best interest of the Club.
Members Agree to:
 Volunteer time at club sponsored competitions, shows, exhibitions, test sessions, and craft nights
 Agree to attend the annual meeting to be held in May of each year, this is when plans are made for the upcoming year and new board is nominated
 Agree to participate in and volunteer with club fundraising
 Help check-in skaters and collect walk-on money for Saturday Club Ice (typically Begins in September of each year)
Help organize/run/promote craft nights, or donate materials needed for craft nights.
